Since I was approximately 13 years old I have dreamed of being able to help the elderly and people in need. I had a father who liked to help people and that fueled the dream of being able to help those in need. For years I was part of the gospel of change and we helped many people from low-income communities by giving them food, clothing and medicine.
For some years we also supported the social development department of the city where we live (Santa Cruz de Aragua, José Ángel Lamas Municipality, Aragua State) in caring for the elderly and people with disabilities, but that stage has also ended.
Today we have our own project that consists of feeding children and the elderly who are in critical situations in the community where we live.
We want to start by giving a plate of food three times a week to 30 people, including children and the elderly, and as we receive support, extend it if possible to 6 days a week. It is not ideal for someone to eat only once a day and only three days a week, but it is a help and as I said it is a start and will depend on the support we receive.
To do this we have the sensitivity that God can put in his heart for the purchase of implements, utensils and the cost of ingredients to prepare the meal.
We have already made a basic budget of everything we need and we try to find a menu that is cheap and at the same time nutritious because we do not want to give anything with the excuse that it is a gift or say “at least they are eating something.”
